Creepy Critter Creole Croutons

These croutons go great on salads or soups. Cut into fun Halloween shapes, sprinkle with seasoning, and bake.
 

Ingredients

  • 8 large slices of day-old good Italian or French bread
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons Creole seasoning

Method

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cut bread into Halloween shapes (bats, cats, bugs, etc.) using small- to medium-sized cookie cutters or a sharp knife. Place cut-outs on large baking sheet and brush both sides of bread lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle Creole seasoning on top. Bake at 375 degree F for 5 to 7 minutes or until tops are golden brown, then turn bread over and cook an additional 5 to 7 minutes or until browned and crispy. Serve over favorite salad.

 

Notes: Any type of seasoning would work well including Italian, Ranch, and even Parmesan cheese.
