Butterscotch Halloween Crispies


These candy treats combine melted butterscotch chips & peanut butter with crisp cereals & nuts. They're dropped by spoonfuls and topped with candy pumpkins.



Ingredients:

  • 2 cups butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 2 cups corn flakes
  • 2 cups crisp chocolate cereal (such as Coco Puffs, Count Chocula, Coco Krispies)
  • 3/4 cup roasted salted peanuts
  • 36 candy pumpkins

Method

Microwave the chips and peanut butter in a large microwave-safe bowl, uncovered, on medium-high setting for 1 minute. Stir and microwave an additional 10-15 seconds. Stir until smooth. Mix in cereals and peanuts. Drop by rounded spoonfuls on waxed paper-lined baking sheets. Immediately press a candy pumpkin into each mound. Chill for 20 minutes or until set. Store in air-tight container.

Notes: This recipe is quick, easy and almost foolproof. It's a fun treat for Halloween parties for kids and grown-ups. They can be decorated with candy corn or other Halloween candies for a nice variation. No matter how many you put out for your party, you won't have any leftover!
